Getting Sorted!

It has been far too long since our last post – What with the constant working on all things Stag & Bow, family life and facing the fear of the big Blog monster we have been kept away. However! We are both finding our way around this blog business and perhaps its not as scary as originally thought? We intend to give as good as we get so Blog monster be warned!

As you can see from the picture above Cyrus is up on a shelf. Taking advantage of all this free time with our children being away on holidays we have been busy this last week doing some very late nights at the shop getting lots of OCD sorting done. He is currently drilling and banging above me, constructing our super organised stock storage bays. Its all about utilising the space well back here… We got all our boxes down and have been sorting through them rediscovering lots of treasure we had forgotten about.

I have been consolidating all my studio stuff – I have 5 different sewing kits on the go!! It has been quite difficult for me to not have a proper functioning studio. I have been working from the shop studio and also from my studio at home but always missing something from here or there. Things in boxes and bags… Its been driving me mad to be honest! So… the other day I did this -
This is the first tidy… The shoe boxes of varying sizes and post it notes make me a little uncomfortable but hey! I have a box especially for random pieces of Velcro! How good is that?! And a jar for blue feathers of course…..

So we have emailed out our new workshop schedule and we will endeavour to work out how to publish it on the blog. As a very special treat to myself and to finish off the tidying purge and celebrate the workshop schedule going out Cyrus put up this print tray for me…

It has been a lot of fun (and somewhat distracting) finding the right size holes to fit the spools…. Safe to say my good old tidy Koala self is back in town.

Pease pudding in the pot 9 days old…..

We have had the most fantastic week (9 days to be precise)…. So much positive feedback from everyone that comes in. Thank you!! Those of you that have been in will have gleaned an idea as to what we are about. However, it is safe to say that this is only the beginning! The interest in our workshops has been phenomenal and it is apparent that our community has a vast spectrum of skills to share and absorb…

Once again Cyrus and I would like to say Thank you for your overwhelming positivity and support for Stag & Bow, we look forward to 2011 and celebrating all that is Forest Hill.

Feels so close but still much to do before we open our door on Saturday. Today we hung our, emblematic, Stag etching, beautiful, such a noble beast. Desperate to write about who we are, why we are doing this and what we are passionate about but exhausted from the long hours, fitting shop ourselves and now something cold like trying to take hold, be gone. Through the fatigue and delerium, very excited about our shop and all the choices we have made about it’s appearance, do come and have a look, Cyrus.

5 days and counting….

We are opening! Really and officially opening! This Saturday December 11th at 11am. Its true! We are very excited about our unveiling…. The beginning of something very beautiful in our lovely Forest Hill. Cyrus and I (Pascale) have been so busy for the last year working on Stag & Bow and it seems almost surreal that we are about to open our doors. We had our sign painted yesterday by Chris De Graff. It was such a great thing to see a craftsman at work, and such a great thing to see our name up there! We have faced the elements this last 10 days up ladders in what felt like 20 below, painting the shop. I am not sure wether we are tenacious or just plain stupid…. Anyway, that debate can wait. Here a few pictures taken over the last couple of months getting Stag & Bow ready for the world.

From little things big things grow….
